Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Tied For First After First Day Of Carleton Invite Posted: Friday, April 14, 2006 NORTHFIELD, MN - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team is tied for first with Buena Vista University after shooting a 330 in the first round of the Carleton Invitational held at Northfield Golf Club today. The Blugolds Maggie Loney (Sr.-River Falls, WI) sits on top of the leaderboard after she shot a first round 77 (+6) one stroke ahead of second place. Jesse Thompson (Jr.-Plover, WI/SPASH) is the next highest Blugold on the leaderboard as she is tied for fourth after she shot a 79 (+8). Meghan Sobotta (So.-Arcadia, WI) and Kim Huber (So.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) are also in the top 20 after the first round. Sobotta shot a first round 86 (+15) to put her in 16th place and Huber shot an 88 (+17) to put her in a tie for 18th. Becky Washleski (Fr.-Cambridge, MN/Cambridge-Isanti) is just outside the top 20 as she shot a first round 91 (+20) and is tied for 22nd. Courtney Adkins (Fr.-Sparta, WI) is the final Blugold competing and she is in a tie for 35th after shooting a 98 (+27). Following the Blugolds and Buena Vista are the University of St. Thomas in third with a score of 333, UW-Stevens Point in fourth with a score of 357, and rounding out the top five is St. Olaf College with a score of 364. The final round will begin tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Northfield Golf Club. - JR - |
