Thu, May 23, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Women's Golf Places Fourth At Spring Fling Posted: Sunday, April 9, 2006 NORMAL, IL - The UW-Eau Claire women's golf team shot a second round score today of 331, the same as its first round score, for a final score of 662 to finish fourth at the Illinois Wesleyan Spring Fling held at Ironwood Golf Course. First round leader, DePauw University ended up running away with the event with a score of 634. In second place was William Woods University with a score of 660. In third, just one stroke ahead of the Blugolds, was St. Mary's College (IN) with a score of 661. The top Blugold finisher was Meghan Sobotta (So.-Arcadia, WI) who placed third in the event overall, five strokes behind the champion, after shooting a second round 79 to finish with a two-day total of 158. Co-first round leader Maggie Loney (Sr.-River Falls, WI) was the next highest Blugold finisher as placed sixth overall with a total score of 161. Jesse Thompson (Jr.-Plover, WI/SPASH) finished in a tie for 15th place with a total score of 167. Kim Huber (So.-Vadnais Heights, MN/White Bear Lake) finished tied for 40th with a two round total of 176. The Blugolds will compete in the Carleton College Spring Invitational this Friday and Saturday at Northfield Golf Club. First day action begins at 10:30 a.m. - JR - |
