Thu, Jun 20, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Men's Basketball To Host Whitewater this Saturday Posted: Thursday, February 16, 2006 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team will also host UW-Whitewater in the team's regular season finale this Saturday in Zorn Arena. The Blugolds are 12-12 overall with a 4-11 conference record. The Warhawks are 18-5 this season and have clinched a share of the conference title with a record of 12-3. The Warhawks defeated the Blugolds earlier this season 70-62. The Blugolds finally return home after four-straight games on the road, in which the team went 2-2. Jared Bardon (So.-DeForest, WI) leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game. Bardon has led the team in scoring in 12 of its 24 games. Coming on as of late has been Dan Beyer (So.-Waukesha, WI/Catholic Memorial), who is third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.1 points per game. Beyer is coming off a career-high scoring performance against UW-Superior where he scored 22 points. The Warhawks are led in scoring this season by Jeremy Manchester, who is averaging 12.9 points per game. He leads the conference in 3-point shooting, as he is 49.2% from beyond the arc this season. The Warhawks are the top scoring team in the conference, averaging 76.1 points per game. They are defeating their opponents by an average of 11.5 points per game. Whitewater is also the best shooting team in the conference, shooting 47.8% from the field. On the defensive side, the Warhawks have the most steals in the conference, averaging 8.32 per game. The Blugolds are 58-42 all-time against the Warhawks. The teams have split the last three regular season match-ups. The tip-off is scheduled at approximately 5 p.m. following the women's game, Saturday night in Zorn Arena. - JR - |
