Women's Basketball To Host Whitewater In Season Finale

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team will host UW-Whitewater in the team's regular season finale this Saturday afternoon in Zorn Arena.
The Blugolds have an overall record of 12-12 and a conference record of 7-8. The Warhawks also have an overall record of 12-12 and are 6-9 in conference action. The Blugolds were defeated in the first meeting of the season 85-71.
Freshman Heidi Arciszewski (Fr.-Thorp, WI) continues to impress for the Blugolds. Arciszewski is third on the team in scoring, averaging 9.3 points per game. She has led the team in scoring in seven of the last 15 games.
Brittanni Hakanson (Fr.-Wheeler, WI/Boyceville) is another Blugold freshman that has been key to the team this season. Hakanson is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10 points per game. She also leads the team in rebounds with 113.
The Blugolds continue to be at the top of the conference in assist-to-turnover ratio. The Blugolds are averaging .83 assists per turnover.
The Warhawks will be led by Lindsey Buechner, who is averaging 14 points per game. Amy Morris is a close second on the team in scoring, averaging 13.3 points per game.
The Warhawks are fourth in the conference scoring averaging 68.5 points per game and are second in the conference with 11.67 steals per game.
The Blugolds have won 13 of the last 15 contests against the Warhawks, but have dropped two of the last three meetings.
The action gets underway at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Zorn Arena.
