EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire women's basketball team will look to add to its 37-game winning streak against UW-Superior as it will host the Yellowjackets Wednesday night in Zorn Arena.

The Blugolds are 11-12 this season with two games left to play. UWEC is currently tied for sixth in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) standings with a 6-8 record. The Yellowjackets are 4-18 overall and are in winless in the conference with a 0-14 record.

The Blugolds have not lost to the Yellowjackets in 37-straight meetings. The last Blugold loss to UW-Superior was way back in the 1987-88 season.

The Blugolds are looking to rebound from their loss at UW-Oshkosh at Saturday, in which the Blugolds could not bounce back after a slow start. In the past six games, the Blugolds have alternated wins and losses.

The freshmen-duo of Brittanni Hakanson (Fr.-Wheeler, WI/Boyceville) and Heidi Arciszewski (Fr.-Thorp, WI) will lead the way for the Blugolds. Hakanson is second on the team in scoring, averaging 10 points per game and is third in the conference in field goal percentage, making 55% of her shots. Arciszewski is third on the team in scoring averaging nine points per game.

The two freshmen will also need the help of senior Rachel Becker (Sr.-Gilmanton, WI). Becker is currently second in the conference in assists, averaging 4.26 a game.

The Yellowjackets will be led by Katie Moench, who leads the team in scoring, averaging 15.7 points per game. That is third best in the conference. She is also the best free throw-shooter in the conference, as she has made 86.6% of her free throws.

The tip-off between the Blugolds and the Yellowjackets is scheduled to get underway at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Zorn Arena.
