Fri, May 24, 2013 No Event(s) Scheduled For Selected Date Wrestling Unable To Take Down Stevens Point Posted: Saturday, February 11, 2006 EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire wrestling team saw its two-meet conference win streak come to an end today as it lost to 17th-ranked UW-Stevens Point in its regular season finale 33-10. The loss drops the Blugolds to 3-13 overall in dual meets and 2-4 in Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meets. The Pointers improve to 10-8 overall in dual meets and 5-1 in WIAC meets. The Blugolds had two winners on the day against the Pointers. Derek Sikora (Sr.-Neillsville, WI), at 165 pounds, won his 12th straight match when he pinned his opponent at 3:51. Sikora, ranked second in Division III in weight class, is now 25-2 this season with seven pins. The other Blugold winner was Andy Miller (Fr.-Appleton, WI/North), at 133 pounds, who won by major decision over his opponent 16-2. This was Miller's sixth victory of the year. Joey Miller (So.-Lake Tomahawk, WI/Lakeland Union), at 184 pounds, and Justin Mc Auly (Jr.-Clintonville, WI), at 197 pounds both lost in close matches. Mc Auly's match was tied going into the third period before he ended up losing 5-3. Up next, the Blugolds will host the 2006 WIAC Conference Wrestling Championships to be held next Sunday (Feb. 19) in the McPhee Physical Education Center.
