Men's Basketball To Host UW-Stevens Point On Wednesday

EAU CLAIRE - The UW-Eau Claire men's basketball team will look for its second-straight win, as it will host UW-Stevens Point on Wednesday night in Zorn Arena.
The Blugolds have an overall record of 10-9 and a conference record of 3-8 and are coming off a 56-51 victory over UW-Platteville on Saturday. The Pointers will come in with a 12-7 overall record and a 7-3 conference record. The Pointers are coming off a close non-conference loss to Edgewood on Saturday.
The Blugolds lost the first meeting between the two teams this by a score of 90-66. The Blugolds have lost the last four meetings, but own the advantage in the all-time series 76-74.
Leading the Blugolds in scoring this season is Jared Bardon (So.-DeForest, WI), who is averaging 13.2 points per game. Bardon has led the team in scoring in 10 of its 19 games this season. Zack Ryan (So.-Lake Elmo, MN/Tartan), who is second on the team in scoring, led the team with 11 points against UW-Platteville on Saturday.
The Blugolds are second in the conference in offensive rebounds per game as they are averaging 11.89.
The Pointers have four scorers averaging in double-figures this season. Leading the way is Jon Krull, who is averaging 17 points per game.
The Pointers are on top of the conference when it comes to free throw percentage as they are shooting 80.3% for the season. They have also made the most 3-pointers in the conference, connecting on 160 this season. Pete Rortvedt is third in the conference in 3-pointers made with 45.
The tip-off is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday night in Zorn Arena.
