Maddie Johnson, Sophomore, Lakeville, Minn./South
With the Blugolds splitting this weekend to take second place at the WIAC Team Tournament in Whitewater, Johnson went 1-1 in singles and 1-1 in doubles play. Against UW-La Crosse, which the Blugolds beat 5-2, Johnson won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles while she and partner Gretchen Bachmeier won 9-7 at No. 2 doubles. Facing UW-Whitewater, she had the closest match of the day but came up short 7-5, 6-1 at No. 4 singles.

Maddie Johnson, Sophomore, Lakeville, Minn./South
Competing in one event this weekend, Johnson and the Blugolds defeated Northwestern College (Minn.) 8-1. She won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles and 8-2 at No. 2 doubles along with Gretchen Bachmeier. Johnson is now 13-5 in singles and 14-3 in doubles play with Bachmeier this season.
Mary Frassetto, Junior, Oshkosh, Wis./West
Competing in one event this weekend, Frassetto and the Blugolds defeated Northwestern College (Minn.) 8-1. She won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles while her and partner Madison Rossebo won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles. Frassetto is now 17-1 on the season in singles and 6-0 with Rossebo in doubles.

Katie Gillman, Junior, Red Wing, Minn.
Gillman went undefeated this weekend, winning twice at No. 3 singles and twice at No. 1 doubles with partner Taylor Heltne. Friday against the College of St. Scholastica (Minn.), which the Blugolds beat 8-1, she won 6-2, 6-0 in singles and 8-1 in doubles competition. Facing Bethel University (Minn.) Sunday, a team the Blugolds defeated 9-0, Gillman won 6-1, 6-2 in singles play and 8-0 in doubles. For the season, she is now 13-4 in singles play and 14-3 competing in doubles.

Colleen McCullough, Freshman, Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo
Competing in four No. 6 singles matches on Spring Break, McCullough was undefeated (4-0) while her team also won all four contests. She started the week winning three in a row in straight sets while only losing a total of four games. McCullough ended the week with a close match but came out on top 5-7, 6-3, 10-4, helping her team to a 5-4 victory over Allegheny (Pa.).

Singles: Mary Frassetto, Junior, Oshkosh, Wis./West
Frassetto went 2-0 this week in the No. 5 spot as the Blugolds split matches. Against NCAA Division II Winona State University (Minn.) on Friday, a match the Blugolds lost 6-3, Frassetto recorded a 6-2, 6-1 win. She then won 7-5, 6-1 as the Blugolds beat UW-La Crosse 6-3 on Saturday. She has won 10 straight matches in dual competitions, improving to 10-1 overall.

In two matches this weekend, Frassetto and Kuepers split at No. 3 doubles as the Blugolds won 6-3 over UW-La Crosse on Saturday after falling 6-3 to NCAA Division II Winona State University (Minn.) on Friday. The pair picked up an 8-6 victory over the Eagles Saturday but fell 8-5 Friday to the Warriors. Frassetto and Kuepers are now 5-2 on the season.

Singles: Taylor Heltne, Senior, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley
In two matches this weekend, Heltne recorded two No. 1 singles victories against conference opponents, helping the Blugolds to two team wins. Friday against UW-Stevens Point, a match the Blugolds won 9-0, Heltne secured a 6-1, 6-1 win over Rachel Brown. Against UW-Oshkosh on Saturday, which the Blugolds defeated 8-1, she beat Preslee Nolte 6-3, 7-6. For the season, she is now 8-1 in dual competitions at No. 1 singles, winning eight straight.

Bachmeier and Johnson won two No. 2 doubles matches against WIAC opponents this weekend, improving their season dual record in the No. 2 spot to 7-1. Friday against UW-Stevens Point, a match the Blugolds won 9-0, the pair won 8-2 while defeating their UW-Oshkosh counterparts 8-4 on Saturday as the team won 8-1. The duo has won seven straight matches in dual competitions.

In three matches this week, Johnson went undefeated at No. 4 singles. She opened the week with a 6-0, 6-2 win in a conference contest at UW-River Falls on Wednesday and the Blugolds won 8-1. Against the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) on Saturday, she won 6-2, 6-3 and the Blugolds went on to win 9-0. Facing Macalester College (Minn.), which the Blugolds defeated 8-1, later on Saturday, she picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win.

Competing in the No. 2 doubles position, the duo finished the week 3-0. Facing UW-River Falls on Wednesday, a team the Blugolds beat 8-1, the pair won 8-3. On Saturday, the Blugolds took on the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) and Macalester College (Minn.), and beat them 9-0 and 8-1. Bachmeier and Johnson won their respective doubles matches 8-1 and 8-2.

Singles: Mary Frassetto, Junior, Oshkosh, Wis./West
Frassetto finished as the runner-up in the No. 2 singles draw at the 2012 Gustavus Fall Invitational this weekend in St. Peter, Minn. She won three matches with respective scores of 6-3, 6-0, 6-4, 6-3 and 6-1, 6-4 to advance to the championship but then came up short 6-4, 6-1 to finish as the runner-up.

Gillman and Heltne advanced to the semifinals at the 2012 USTA/ITA Midwest Regional Championships this weekend. The pair won three matches with respective scores of 8-3, 8-3, 8-1 to get to the semifinals but then fell to Coe's Michelle Schupach and Tai Lucero in the semi match 8-3.

Singles: Gretchen Bachmeier, Senior, Eau Claire, Wis./North
In two matches this weekend, Bachmeier won twice in the No. 3 spot. Facing her Wartburg College (Iowa) opponent Saturday, she won 6-0, 6-0 and followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory competing against St. Norbert College. As a team, the Blugolds beat Wartburg 8-1 and St. Norbert 9-0.

Bachmeier and Johnson won two No. 2 doubles matches this weekend as the Blugolds beat Wartburg College (Iowa) 8-1 and St. Norbert College 9-0. Against Wartburg, the pair won 8-4 while picking up an 8-0 victory against their St. Norbert opponents.

Competing in a WIAC contest against UW-Stout on Wednesday, Frassetto claimed a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles as the Blugolds defeated the Blue Devils 9-0.
Doubles: Katie Gillman, Junior, Red Wing, Minn. & Taylor Heltne, Senior, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley
Gillman and Heltne secured an 8-1 win over Abby Cornelius and Molly Denney of UW-Stout on Wednesday at No. 1 doubles. The win for Heltne and Gillman helped the Blugolds to a 9-0 victory over the Blue Devils.

Singles: Colleen McCullough, Freshman, Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo
McCullough began her collegiate career with a win at No. 6 singles as the Blugolds opened the season at UW-Whitewater on Friday. She defeated Whitewater's Erika Williams 6-1, 6-4, a player who then went on to win the No. 3 single draw at the Warhawk Invitational the following day.
Doubles: Katie Gillman, Junior, Red Wing, Minn. & Taylor Heltne, Senior, Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley
At the Warhawk Invitational on Saturday, Gillman and Heltne won the No. 1 double draw. They opened the day with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Augustana and followed with a 6-7 (4), 6-1, 10-6 win over UW-Whitewater opponents. In the championship match, the pair went on to defeat UW-La Crosse 7-5, 6-0.
