Shane Brady, 133 lbs., Fr., Chetek
Brady earned a big win at 133 pounds this weekend in a 35-7 dual meet loss to Stevens Point. He improved to 12-18 on the season with a tough 7-6 win over Jake Calhoun.

Derek Sikora, 165 lbs., Jr., Neillsville
Sikora posted a 3-1 record on the week as he won his match against Itasca CC and then took second place in the 165-pound bracket at the Blugold Invitational. After receiving a first round bye, Sikora won his first match at the invite 14-6 and his second 7-5 to set up a championship match between himself and Wartburg's Andrew Knaack. The second-seeded Knaack defeated Sikora 8-3 in the finals.

Josh Holforty, 197 lbs., Fr., Bloomington, MN (Kennedy)
Holforty won his only match last week in a dual meet with UW-Platteville. At 197 pounds, Holforty earned a 4-1 victory over the Pioneers' Tom Venners.

Derek Sikora, 165 lbs., Jr., Neillsville
Sikora finished the week a perfect 3-0 as he earned wins in all his matches against Whitewater, Lawrence and Division II SIU-Edwardsville. Sikora helped lead the Blugolds to a 25-23 win over Lawrence on Sunday with a pin 4:19 into the match. He earned a 10-1 decision over Whitewater's Chris Lee on Saturday and a 4-0 win over SIU-Edwardsville's John Ficht.

Brady had a great week as he finished the week 4-1 and won the consolation bracket at 133 pounds at the Dan Gable Open in Oshkosh. In a dual meet victory over Lakeland on Friday, Brady defeated Scott Toledo with a 4-0 decision. After losing in the first round to the fifth seed at the Dan Gable Open, Brady earned a pin in the consolation bracket in a time of 3:46 and went on to defeat Toledo 9-0 in the consolation bracket.

Drew Bingner, HWT, Fr., Fort Atkinson
Bingner had a very impressive performance in the heavyweight division at the Cornell Invitational on Saturday. He finished third place out of 13 wrestlers in the bracket and pinned Morningside's Nathan Ploen in 57 seconds to finish third in the heavyweight division.

Derek Sikora, 165 lbs., Jr., Neillsville
Sikora improved his record to a perfect 6-0 with two wins in two separate dual matches this week. Ranked second nationally at 165 pounds, Sikora notched the only Blugold victory over fifth-ranked UW-La Crosse pinning Jerad Clark at 3:54. On Saturday Sikora scored a major decision victory over Jerry Blahut of the Milwaukee School of Engineering 18-5.

Sikora had a great day at the St. Olaf Duals despite the Blugolds finishing just 1-3 overall. Sikora defeated two nationally ranked wrestlers on the day as he finished the meet a perfect 4-0. In his season debut against Loras' Brad Bishop, Sikora beat the fifth-ranked wrestler by a score of 9-2. Sikora also earned a tough 2-0 decision as the Blugolds only victory against William Penn and then won a major 19-6 decision over St. Olaf. He also won by forfeit against Buena Vista.

Holforty began his Blugold career with a bang, taking third place in the 197-pound bracket at the Cobber Open in his collegiate debut. Holforty lost his opening match to the No. 1 seed but came back with pins in his next three matches, including a pin in 1:19 against Larry Johnston of the University of Great Falls. Holforty also pinned Chris Johnson of Great Falls in 3:46 and Scott Keleher of William Penn in 1:59 before defeating teammate Larry Moen 4-2 to take third place.

Moen had a great weekend in St. Olaf at the St. Olaf Open, where no team scores were kept. He finished the event a perfect 3-0 in taking first place in the 197-pound bracket.
