Derek Sikora, 165 lbs., So., Neillsville
Sikora finished a perfect 3-0 at the UWEC Quadrangular. He defeated Jeff Shegoskey of St. John's 12-2 and also won a 12-5 decision over Josh Ison of UW-Stevens Point. He earned a pin against Dave Ahmed of Concorida for his third win, pinning the Ahmed in 6:40.

Dave Vanevenhoven, 149 lbs., So., Kaukana
The second-seeded Vanevenhoven finished in second place in the 149-pound bracket at the UWEC Invitational which three top-10 teams in the country. Vanevenhoven won his first round match with a pin fall in 6:11 and advanced to the championship with a technical fall in 6:43. Vanevenhoven lost a 6-3 decision to Wartburg's Dustin Cooper in the finals.

Derek Sikora, 165 lbs, So., Neillsville
Sikora tallied the lone win in the Blugolds' 35-3 loss to seventh-ranked La Crosse as he ran his winning streak to seven consecutive matches with an 11-4 win at 165 pounds. Sikora scored a takedown on La Crosses' Derek Hebrink in the opening period to take a 2-0 in to the second period. Sikora would score two takedowns in each of the next two periods to earn the victory.

Dave Vanevenhoven, 149 lbs, So., Kaukana
Vanevenhoven was one of five Blugolds to win in a loss to Lawrence. He topped Ryan Dummann by decision 7-1 at 149 pounds.

Nick Campbell, Sr., Eden Prairie, MN (Maple Grove)
Campbell had a perfect week as he finished the week 5-0 with two of the victories coming by pin. In a dual meet against conference opponent UW-Platteville, Campbell took down Pioneer Ryan Rozek in the heavyweight division, pinning Rozek in 1:22. At the Terry Haws Dual Tournament, Campbell led the Blugolds to a fourth place finish with a perfect 4-0 record. He started the tournament off with a 4-2 heavyweight victory over MSU-Moorhead's Mitch Greenwood as the Blugolds topped an alternate team 24-15. The Blugolds went on to face St. Olaf where Campbell led the Blugolds to a 31-18 victory over the Oles with a pin of Max Bunge in 2:03 at 197 pounds. Eau Claire went on to face MSU-Moorhead but fell despite Campbell's 5-3 victory at heavyweight and in the third place match the Blugolds again fell despite Campbell's 4-2 victory at 197 pounds.

Larry Moen, 197 pounds, Jr., Madison (East)
Moen was the top Blugold finisher at this weekend's Mike McReady Open held at the campus of Upper Iowa University. The third-seeded Moen won his opening match 12-4 and defeated second-seeded Mike McCabe of Coe College 11-5 to advance to the championship. Moen lost to top-seeded Aaron Granell of Augustana 8-6 to finish second.

Sikora was the Blugolds top wrestler at the 2003 Mike McCready Open held on the campus of Upper Iowa University. Sikora took home fourth place from the event at 165 pounds. The sixth-seeded Sikora opened up with a 6-4 upset of third-seeded Jesse Reyerson. Sikora fell in the next round but advanced to the third place match with a 5-0 win over fifth-seeded Matt Perrizo. Sikora lost 6-0 in a rematch against Reyerson to finish fourth.

Larry Moen, Heavyweight, Jr., Madison, WI (East)
Moen was one of two Blugolds to record victories in Eau Claire's dual meet with Luther College. The junior Blugold battled to a scoreless stalemate following the first period but took a 2-1 lead into the final period with a second period takedown. Moen used a near fall, reversal, escape, and penalty in the third period to win 9-6.

Paul Lundgren, 133 pounds, Fr., Bloomer, WI
Lundgren earned his first collegiate victory as the Blugolds won their first dual meet of the year defeating St. Olaf (MN) 34-15. Lundgren pinned Ben Tucker in 4:39 at 133 pounds. Lundgren dominated the match recording two takedowns, two three-point nearfalls and one two-point nearfall before pinning Tucker.

Nick Campbell, Heavyweight, Sr., Maple Grove, MN
Campbell opened the season going a perfect 4-0 on the weekend. Friday night in a dual meet versus 30th-ranked UW-Whitewater Campbell defeated Paul Collins 8-4 scoring three takedowns and one escape in the victory. At the St. Olaf (MN) Open Campbell won the heavyweight division recording two decision victories and one pin. For the weekend Campbell recorded 10 takedown, five near fall points and three takedowns.
