2008-09 Golf Athletes of the Week

September 15, 2008-September 21, 2008

Torie Ives, Junior, Osseo, Wis./Osseo-Fairchild
Competing in the Illinois Wesleyan Fall Classic, Ives tied for ninth as the Blugolds finished in fourth place out of 23 teams overall. In the first round, Ives shot a 75 while she picked up 80 strokes on day two, completing the tournament with 175.

September 8, 2008-September 14, 2008

Emily Swift, Freshman, Onalaska, Wis.
The Blugolds moved up four places on the final day of the Division III Midwest Classic, tying for second overall out of 15 teams. Swift improved six strokes over day one, shooting an 80 on the second day, to finish the tournament with 166 strokes. She finished tied for ninth place overall.

September 1, 2008-September 7, 2008

Katie Maurer, Freshman, Forest Lake, Minn./Covenant of the Visitation
This weekend at the Wartburg College Fall Invitational, Maurer led the Blugolds with 163 strokes, nine behind the winner. On day one she shot 84 but improved on the second day to finish with 79 strokes. She tied for 14th place overall.

August 25, 2008-August 31, 2008

Lauren Gault, Freshman, Shorewood, Wis.
Gault turned in an impressive performance, competing in her first collegiate golf tournament this weekend at the UW-Eau Claire Fall Invitational. Gault finished tied for tenth overall to lead the Blugolds to their fifth place finish out of 25 teams. Gault finished with 162 strokes, five behind the winner from Wartburg.
