2011 Cross Country Athletes of the Week

October 17, 2011-October 23, 2011

Alana Jenkins, Sophomore, Eau Claire, Wis./Memorial
Jenkins led the Blugolds to a first place finish Friday at the Lake Wissota Invitational. She finished in third place out of 62 runners with a time of 18:51 on the 5,000-meter course.

October 10, 2011-October 16, 2011

Ashlyn Mauer, Junior, Sheboygan Falls, Wis.
Mauer led the Blugolds to a first place finish out of 23 teams at the UW-La Crosse Tori Neubauer Invitational on Saturday. She finished in fourth place overall with a time of 22:33.6 on the 6,000-meter course and was the top finisher from the WIAC.

September 26, 2011-October 2, 2011

Alyssa Sybilrud, Senior, Burnsville, Minn.
Sybilrud led the Blugolds to a third place finish out of 19 teams on Friday at the Blugold Invitational at Whitetail Golf Course. She finished 10th out of 341 runners with a time of 22:32.6 on the 6K course and was the top finisher amongst WIAC competitors.

Steph Sjostrom, Junior, Champlin, Minn./Park
Sjostrom helped lead the Blugolds to a first place finish out of 32 teams at the University of Minnesota's Roy Griak Invitational. She was the Blugolds' second runner, placing 11th overall in a field of 375 competitors with a 6K time of 23:06.3. Her Griak performance this year was one minute and 46 seconds faster than her time last year when she competed at Griak for Winona State University.
