2003 Cross Country Athletes of the Week

Melissa Wright, Sr., Appleton (Kimberly)
Wright had a phenomenal showing at the 2003 WIAC Championships as she led the Blugolds to a fourth place finish. Wright set a new personal record with her time of 22:38 and earned All-Conference first team honors in the process. She finished first on the Blugold roster by 40 seconds.

Christina Locke, Fr., Racine (Horlick)
Locke set a personal record at the Wissota Invitational in Chippewa Falls en rout to a 15th place individual finish. Her time of 20:31 in the event place her second individually on the Blugold roster.
October 13, 2003-October 19, 2003
Jeanine Twomey, So., Blaine, MN (Spring Lake Park)
Twomey finished third on the Blugold roster at the Tori Neubauer Invitational held in West Salem. Twomey had a career best time in the 5k race as she finished in 19:48, excelling at the end of the race to place 35th overall in the event.

Korah Petrasko, Fr., Appleton (East)
Petrasko had a great weekend at the Roy Griak Invitational as the Blugolds competed in the Division II portion of the event. Petrasko finished third on the Blugold roster with a time of 19:40. The finish was good for 46th place overall.

Melissa Wright, Sr., Appleton (Kimberly)
Wright had an excellent performance in her season debut as she participated in the St. Olaf Invitational and led the Blugolds to a first place finish out of 19 teams. Wright took sixth place overall in the event and first on the Blugold roster.
September 8, 2003-September 14, 2003
Jennifer Warmke, So., Black River Falls
Warmke finished in 11th place at the All-American Invite held at Luther College in Decorah, IA. She set a career best time in the event as she finished the course in 19:16. She finished second on the Blugold roster in the event.
