Kristi Channing, F/C, Sr., Fall Creek
Scored 16 points in leading the Blugolds to a 65-53 conference victory over UW-Platteville in the Blugolds only game of the week. The victory marked the Blugolds 16th conference victory as they finished the season a perfect 16-0 in the WIAC. The accomplishment has only been done by four teams in WIAC history, including Eau Claire four years ago. Channing led all scorers in the Blugolds win over the Pioneers while also grabbing six rebounds.

Brooke Wozniak, Forward/Center, Jr., Stanley (Stanley-Boyd)
Led the Blugolds to two huge victories, including the conference-clinching 62-58 victory over UW-Oshkosh. Wozniak helped the Blugolds to distinct advantages in rebounding against both the Titans and the Warhawks. Against Oshkosh, Wozniak grabbed 13 rebounds and scored eight points in leading the Blugolds to their second outright WIAC title in the last four years. On Saturday, Wozniak grabbed double-digit rebounds for the fourth time in her last five games as she hauled in 11 rebounds to go along with six points in leading the Blugolds over the Warhawks. Her totals for the week include 14 points, 24 rebounds, and three assists.

Brooke Wozniak, Forward/Center, Jr., Stanley (Stanley-Boyd)
Wozniak played a big role in two conference wins this week as she grabbed a total of 31 rebounds in just two games. Against La Crosse, Wozniak helped the Blugolds to a 50-25 rebounding advantage as she tore down a career-high 19 rebounds, including nine on the offensive glass. Wozniak again grabbed nine offensive rebounds against UW-River Falls on Saturday as she totaled double digit rebounds again with 12. The six-foot center finished with a double-double on the evening as she totaled 11 points to go along with her 12 rebounds. Her final numbers for the week included 31 rebounds, 15 points, three steals, and two assists in helping the Blugolds stay a perfect 13-0 in conference play and ensure at least a tie for first place in conference play.
January 27, 2003-February 2, 2003
Kristi Channing, Forward, Sr., Fall Creek
Led the Blugolds to two conference victories this week including a 72-50 rout of 16th ranked UW-Stevens Point. Channing scored 23 points on 11-of-16 shooting, grabbed eight rebounds, dished out three assists, and swiped three steals in the Blugolds' victory over the pointers. Channing got the Blugolds scoring started with an opening lay-up to put the Blugolds' up for good. Channing also scored a team-high 14 points against Superior on Wednesday night to go along with eight rebounds. Her totals for the week include 37 points, 16 rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Channing's performances this week helped the Blugolds maintain a perfect conference record at 11-0. The Blugolds have yet to lose to a Division III opponent this season.

Emilee Planert, Guard, So., Eau Claire (North)
Had a career game in leading the Blugolds to a 74-61 victory over WIAC opponent UW-Stout. Planert came off the bench to lead the team in scoring with 28 points on 9-of-16 shooting, including nailing four trifectas in four attempts as well as hitting 6of-8 from the charity stripe. Planert also led the team in steals with four and also grabbed four rebounds.

Janel Soppeland, Sr., Cadott
Played a big role in a Blugold road victory over UW-Oshkosh that helped Eau Claire stay a perfect 7-0 in WIAC play. Soppeland kicked the game off with a three-point shot setting the tone for the rest of the game. After the 3-0 lead courtesy of Soppeland the Blugolds would hold the lead the rest of the game. The Blugold guard ended the game with game-highs in points and assists. Along with the 20 points she totaled in the 38 minutes she played she helped spread the ball around with six assists.

Kristi Channing, Sr., Fall Creek
Led the Blugolds to a 2-0 record on the week against conference opponents River Falls and Whitewater. Channing dropped 31 points on Whitewater shooting 11-of-14 from the field and grabbing a game high seven rebounds. Against River Falls Channing scored nine points but more importantly helped eliminate second chances for the Falcons by grabbing 13 rebounds in the Eau Claire victory. The Blugolds two wins this week give them an excellent record of 14-1 for the season and 6-0 in the WIAC.
December 30, 2002-January 5, 2003
Kristi Channing, Sr., Fall Creek
Had an excellent week as she led the Blugolds to three wins including topping the defending Division III national champion UW-Stevens Point 68-66 in Stevens Point. She helped lift the Blugolds over the pointers by scoring 23 points and grabbing 10 rebounds including hitting all 11 free throws she attempted. For the week she totaled 50 points and 21 rebounds in three games as the Blugolds continue the season with just one loss.

Janel Soppeland, Sr., Cadott
Led the Blugolds to two victories over WIAC conference opponents La Crosse and Stout. In the two games she scored 25 points combined helping the Blugolds edge out both teams in extremely close games. Her six three-pointers on the week helped lift the Blugolds to conference wins. Soppeland also grabbed nine rebounds and dished out five assists in the two games.

Janel Soppeland, Sr., Cadott
Tied a team record with six three-pointers in the championship game of the UWEC Thanksgiving Showcase Tournament against Northwestern. Her five trifectas in the second half alone led the Blugolds to a 83-48 victory over the eagles. Soppeland scored 52 points in the three games. She hit 11 three-pointers and grabbed 12 rebounds on the week. Soppeland was named the Tournament Most Valuable Player at the UWEC Thanksgiving Showcase.
November 18, 2002-November 24, 2002
Becca Spaeth, Jr., Chippewa Falls (Chi-Hi)
Led the Blugolds in scoring in both games of the Luther College Tip-Off Classic as the Blugolds defeated both Wartburg College and host Luther College. She scored 29 points in the two games as well as grabbing a team best 13 rebounds in the Blugolds first game of the tournament against Wartburg. Seven of her 13 rebounds came on the offensive glass which allowed Eau Claire to maintain possession of the ball and dominate the paint.
