Kevin Fawcett, Junior, Madison, Wis./Verona
Competing against Luther College (Iowa) this weekend, Fawcett won a No. 3 doubles match with partner Eric Wollum 8-5. He also played a close No. 5 singles match but ended up falling short 6-1, 2-6, 10-8. The doubles win was his third straight with Wollum.

Wollum went 2-1 in singles play and 2-0 in doubles competition as the Blugolds went 2-1 in Whitewater this weekend. Against La Crosse Wollum won the No. 6 singles spot 6-1, 6-3 and the Blugolds went on to win 6-3. In the No. 6 singles spot against Oshkosh, Wollum won 6-3, 7-6 while he and his partner Kevin Fawcett picked up an 8-3 No. 3 doubles victory as the Blugolds took the competition 5-4. Facing Whitewater, he dropped a No. 6 singles match 6-2, 6-3 but bounced back with an 8-5 No. 3 doubles win.

Aaron Johnson, Sophomore, Andover, Minn./Elk River
With the Blugolds picking up four wins this weekend, Johnson recorded three singles victories. Against Northwestern College (Minn.) he won 6-1, 6-3 Friday while he won 6-1, 6-2 against Bethel University (Minn.) and 6-1, 6-3 against Hamline University (Minn.) Saturday. On Friday he competed at No. 2 singles while he was in the No. 6 spot Saturday.

While the Blugolds picked up two victories this weekend, Fawcett did not drop a single match. In the Blugolds' 6-3 against Wheaton College, Fawcett picked up a 6-7, 6-2, 10-7 victory at No. 5 singles while he and his partner Dirk Van Rybroek won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles. Against Elmhurst College, the Blugolds won 9-0, and Fawcett won 6-2, 7-5 in the No. 5 singles spot while he and partner Van Rybroek won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles.

Dirk Van Rybroek, Freshman, Madison, Wis./Memorial
This week in Hilton Head, South Carolina, the Blugolds went 6-2 on their spring break trip. Van Rybroek finished the week 4-1 in singles play and 3-3 on the doubles side. He played in the No. 5 singles spot to open the week and picked up a win while he played at No. 6 the rest of the week. In doubles competition, he was 2-3 in the No. 3 spot and closed the trip with a match at No. 1 doubles with an 8-3 victory.

Chris Kuna, Freshman, Edina, Minn.
While the Blugolds split this weekend, defeating Minnesota State-Mankato 9-0 on Friday but falling short 8-1 to Gustavus Adolphus on Saturday, Kuna went 3-1, winning both doubles matches and one singles match. On Friday he won 6-1, 6-0 against Mankato at No. 4 singles and also picked up an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. He and his partner Lars Olson were the only Blugolds to record victories Saturday in an 8-5 win at No. 2 doubles.

Phil Loprinzi, Junior, Rochester, Minn./Mayo
In three meets this weekend, Loprinzi went 2-1 in both doubles and singles competition. On Friday he dropped both singles and doubles matches against Division I UW-Green Bay, but played a tight match on the singles side. Later that evening he followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 3 singles before winning 8-2 with his partner at No. 1 doubles against St. Norbert. On Saturday against Lawrence University he picked up a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles and also won 8-4 at No. 1 doubles.

Lars Olson, Sophomore, De Pere, Wis.
Olson went 2-2 over the weekend as the Blugolds finished 1-1 in Minnesota. On Friday against Carleton he dropped both the singles and doubles matches but bounced back with two wins against St. Olaf. He won 7-6 (8-7), 4-6, 10-7 in the No. 2 singles spot and also won 8-3 with partner Chris Kuna at No. 2 doubles.
Brett Burleigh, Sophomore, Verona, Wis.
Competing in two single and double's matches this weekend, Burleigh finished 3-1. Against Cornell College he won both matches in the No. 1 spot, defeating John Mineck in singles and Neal Klauer and Courtland Olson with partner Dirk Van Rybroek in doubles play. He also won in doubles against Loras College but fell short on the singles side.

Chris Thornton, Sophomore, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall
Competing in three matches this weekend, Thornton did not drop a single one and went 3-0. In Saturday's 9-0 victory over Monmouth College, Thornton won 6-0, 6-2 at No. 6 singles. He also won a No. 6 singles match by default in the Blugolds' 9-0 win over Ripon College on Sunday and a No. 4 match over St. Mary's Jack Schway 6-2, 6-2 as the Blugolds won 9-0.

Steve Lantz, Senior, Rochester, Minn./Century
In two meets to open the 2009 season, Lantz picked up two singles victories and one doubles victory. Against St. Cloud State, Lantz defeated Ryan Schoenefeld 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 1-0 (10-8) to open the season at No. 3 singles. Facing Concordia, Lantz won again at the No. 3 spot 6-0, 6-3 and also picked up an 8-2 win with partner Chris Kuna at No. 2 doubles.
