2005 Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week
February 21, 2005-February 27, 2005
Track: Adam Koger, So., Eau Claire (Memorial)
Koger took home first place in the 400-meter dash at last weekend's Pointer Qualifier in Stevens Point. The sophomore Blugold finished the event in a time of 49.70 seconds, good for a provisional qualification to national competition.
Field: Eric Johnson, So., Schofield (D.C. Everest)
Johnson earned victories in both the long and triple jump events last weekend at the Pointer Qualifier. Johnson won the long jump with a distance of 21-7.25 feet and took third in the triple jump with an effort of 44-9.75 feet.

Track: Nick Aliota, So., Brookfield (Central)
Aliota had a great performance at the Border Battle Invite in Minnesota, where the Blugolds took first place out of four teams. Aliota won the 55-meter hurdles event with a time of 8.06 seconds and was also a member of Eau Claire's winning 4x200-meter relay team.
Field: John Schuna, Sr., Hudson
Schuna powered the Blugolds to a first-place finish out of four teams last weekend at the Border Battle Invite hosted by St. Olaf. The senior Blugold posted victories in both the shot put and weight throw competitions. He posted a throw of 16.73 meters (54-10.75) in the shot put and a throw of 16.94 meters (55-7) in the weight throw.
January 31, 2005-February 6, 2005
Track: Adam Condit, Sr., La Crosse (Central)
Condit won the 1-mile run at the Warren Bowlus Open in Menomonie, where the Blugolds claimed second place out of eight teams. He finished the event in a time of 4:22.17.
Field: Justin Wolfe, Sr. Brodhead
Wolfe earned a second place finish at the Warren Bowlus Open on Saturday. The senior Blugold grabbed second place in the pole vault competition, clearing a height of 4.50m (14-9).
January 24, 2005-January 30, 2005
Field: John Schuna, Sr., Hudson
Schuna grabbed first place in the shot put and second in the weight throw last weekend as the Blugolds took second place out of nine teams at the UW-Whitewater Invitational. Schuna posted a throw of 17.58 meters in the shot put for first place while posting a throw of 16.89 meters for second in the weight throw.
January 17, 2005-January 23, 2005
Track: Adam Condit, Sr., La Crosse (Central)
Condit helped lead the Blugolds to a first-place finish at the six-team Blugold Open on Friday. He won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.54 while taking second place in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:01.87.
Field: John Schuna, Sr., Hudson
Schuna dominated the shot put and weight throw competitions at the 2005 Blugold Open, winning both events. He posted a throw of 16.61meters in the shot put to win the event while recording a throw of 16.52 meters to win the weight throw.
