2002-03 Golf Athletes of the Week

April 14, 2003-April 20, 2003

Ryan Quinn, Sr., Galesville (G-E-T)
Quinn took top medalist honors for the fourth time this season as he won the 18-team Buena Vista Spring Invitational. Quinn went 72-69-141 to beat Nick Grossman of Central (IA) by four strokes. Earlier in the week Quinn was named to the USA vs. Japan Collegiate Golf Championships to be played July 15-18 in Japan. Quinn is one of eight members selected to the team and the only Division III golfer named to the team.

March 31, 2003-April 7, 2003

Grant Lissick, Fr., Vadnais Heights, MN (White Bear Lake)
Played very well at the Augustana Invitational as the Blugolds claimed the event, shooting a 571, five under par. Lissick finished in second place overall, behind only teammate Ryan Quinn. The freshman Blugold shot a 142 on the tournament despite temperatures in the mid-20's. Lissick finished the event at two under par.

October 14, 2002-October 20, 2002

Captured medalist honors with a three-under-par 141 at the Wilson/Gordin Collegiate. The tournament consisted of the top 12 ranked teams from a year ago. Quinn helped the Blugolds finish first in the competition.

September 9, 2002-September 15, 2002

Ryan Quinn, Sr., Galesville/G-E-T
Mark Christensen, Sr., Elk River, MN

Took the top two individual spots with sub-par rounds as the Blugolds won the 19-team St. John's Invitational by 26 strokes. Quinn, a 2001 NCAA All-American who sat out last season, started his final season with a three-under par 141 with rounds of 73 and 68. Christensen, a 2002 NCAA All-American, started his senior season with a two-under par 142 with rounds of 72 and 70. The Blugolds actually captured the top four spots in a field of 99 golfers.
