"Jared Bardon, Outside, So., DeForest, WI"
Bardon continued his recent scoring surge as the Blugolds split a pair of WIAC conference games in the final week of the regular season. In a 90-71 victory at UW-Superior Bardon scored 19 points in 24 minutes to go with five assists against no turnovers. In a 91-88 double overtime defeat to conference champion and 24th-ranked UW-Whitewater Bardon led all scorers with 24 points to go with a game-high five steals. Bardon's five steals helped the Blugolds outscore the Warhawks 19-12 in fast break points to go with a 17-12 advantage in turnovers forced. For the week Bardon averaged 21.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals connecting on 16-of-30 (.533) shots from the field, 4-of-9 (.444) three-point field goals and 7-of-8 (.875) free throws.

"Matt Riley, Inside, Jr., Cadott, WI"
Riley was part of a balanced offensive attack that saw the Blugolds lose two conference road games this week. In a tight 59-57 defeat to UW-River Falls Riley lead four Blugolds in double figures with 12 points and a team-best six rebounds. Riley made five-of-seven field goals including two-of-two three-point field goals. Riley also dished out two assists against the Falcons. In a 81-63 defeat at UW-Oshkosh Riley scored 10 points connecting on four-of-seven field goals making two-of-three field goals beyond the arc. For the week Riley averaged 11 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists making 9-of-14 field goals (.643) and 4-of-5 three-point field goals (.800).

"Jared Bardon, Outside, So., DeForest, WI"
Bardon averaged 25.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and four assists in two games last week. In a 79-76 defeat to UW-Stevens Point Bardon scored a career-high 26 points to go with a team-best five assists. Bardon made 11-of-21 shots from the floor including 2of-3 from three-point range and 2-of-3 free throws in defeat. In a 90-84 double overtime victory at Finlandia (MI) Bardon scored 25 points and tie a team-best six rebounds in victory. Bardon made 11-of-17 shots from the floor going 1-of-3 from behind the arc and and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe. Bardon also totaled three assists and two steals in the win. For the week Bardon made 22-of-38 (.579) field goals making 3-of-6 (.500) three-point shots and 4-of-5 (.800) free throws. Bardon grabbed four offensive rebounds while recording eight assists against five turnovers in two games.

"Dan Beyer, Inside, So., Waukesha, WI/Catholic Memorial"
Beyer continues to improve as the season progresses for the Blugolds who went 1-1 in conference play this week. Beyer led all scorers with 18 points in a loss at conference-leading UW-Stout. Against the Blue Devils Beyer made 7-of-10 field goals including 4-of-7 field goals from three-point range to go with five rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot. In a 56-51 victory over UW-Platteville Beyer scored nine points, five rebounds, two assists and one steal in defeating the Pioneers. The victory over UW-Platteville marked the second consecutive conference home victory for the Blugolds and ended a three-game losing streak versus the Pioneers. For the week Beyer averaged 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in two games shooting 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the field, 6-of-11 (54.5%) from three-point range.

Beyer posted back-to-back double-digit scoring games for the first time this season in helping the Blugolds split a pair of Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) games this week. Beyer scored 12 points to go along with three rebounds, one assist, one block and one steal in a 76-57 victory over UW-Superior. In a 73-61 loss at UW-La Crosse Beyer would score 10 points, including 2-for-4 shooting from three-point range, to go with five rebounds. For the week Beyer averaged 11 points, four rebounds and one steal per game connecting on 9-for-24 shot from the field, 3-of-7 from the three-point line and 1-of-1 from the charity stripe.

"Matt Riley, Inside, Jr., Cadott, WI"
Riley averaged 10 points and five rebounds per game in two Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) road contest this week. In a 90-66 defeat at UW-Stevens Point Riley led all players with nine rebounds, including four on the offensive end, to go with seven points and two assists in 28 minutes. In a 66-60 setback at UW-Platteville Riley posted a career-best 13 points along with a team-high two steals playing all 40 minutes. For the week Riley made 8-of-16 field goals making 1-of-2 three-point field goals and three-of-five free throws.

"Matt Riley, Inside, Jr., Cadott, WI"
Riley set season-high totals for points and rebounds as the Blugolds lost two hard-fought games versus the top two teams in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) pre-season poll. In a 70-62 defeat to conference-leading UW-Whitewater, Playing inside standing 6-2, Riley posted a season-best 10 points and seven rebounds in the loss. The Blugolds trailed 61-59 with 3:06 remaining against the Warhawks. Riley and the Blugolds outrebounded the Warhawks 41-31. In a 68-58 loss versus UW-Oshkosh Riley again grabbed seven rebounds while scoring four points. The Blugolds trailed the highly-touted Titans 56-55 with 2:03 to play in the game. The Blugolds would win the battle of the boards 35-25 against a much-taller Titan team. For the week Riley averaged seven points and seven rebounds per game totaling three assists against one turnover in two games.

"Zack Ryan, Outside, So., Lake Elmo, MN/Tartan"
Ryan was named the Most Valuable Player at the 37th Annual UW-Eau Claire Holiday Classic helping the Blugolds win the Classic championship by going 2-0. In a 76-66 victory over St. Mary's (MN) led all scores with 19 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the field including 3-of-6 from three-point range and 6-of-8 from the free throw line. Ryan had a team-best five assists to go along with four rebounds and one steal. In the championship game versus Finlandia (MI) Ryan scored 16 points, all coming in the second half to help the Blugolds defeat the Lions 70-64. Trailing 30-25 at the half, Ryan helped lead a charge that saw the Blugolds score 45 points in the second half. During the game's final 20 minutes Ryan was 5-of-7 from the field connecting on 4-of-6 shots from beyond the arc and 2-of-4 free throws to secure the win to go along with three assists and two rebounds. For the week Ryan made 10-of-18 field goals making 7-of-13 three-point field goals and 8-of-12 free throws. Ryan averaged 17.5 points, four assists and three rebounds a game to go with one steal. Ryan committed just three turnovers in 61 minutes of play over two games.

Ryan set career highs in points and assists in helping the Blugolds go 2-0 on the week and improve their record to 6-3 overall. In a 98-70 victory over Finlandia (MI) Ryan scored nine points in addition to four assists against no turnovers. Ryan shot 3-of-5 from the field including 1-of-2 from three-point range and 2-of-2 from the free throw line. In a 76-60 win over St. Scholastica (MN) Ryan recorded a career-best 17 points and five assists. Ryan shot 7-of-9 from the floor going 3-of-3 from the three-point line to go along with three steal and three rebounds, two coming off the offensive glass. For the week Ryan made 10-of-14 field goals connecting on 4-of-5 three-point attempts and 2-of-2 free throws averaging 13 points, 4.5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game. Ryan dished out nine assists against only two turnovers for the week in 55 minutes of action.

"Dan Ottney, Outside, So., Glenwood City, WI"
Ottney scored the winning basket with 27 seconds remaining in the game to give the Blugolds its only lead of the game and first conference victory of the year with a 57-56 victory over UW-River Falls. Trailing 51-32 with 12:27 remaining to play Ottney helped the Blugolds end the game on a 25-5 run capped off by an Ottney score in the paint with 27 seconds to play. Ottney ended the game with nine points with a team-best four rebounds and three steals to go along with three assists.

"Jared Bardon, Outside, So., DeForest, WI"
Bardon averaged 16.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game this week in two WIAC contest. Against UW-Stout Bardon led the Blugolds in scoring with nine points while adding four rebounds. Bardon led all scorers with 24 points in a 64-58 defeat to UW-La Crosse on 9-of-14 shooting from the field going 3-of-8 from three-point range and 3-of-4 from the free throw line. Bardon led the Blugolds with five rebounds and four steals in 30 minutes.

"Jared Bardon, Outside, So., DeForest, WI"
Bardon averaged 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game in helping the Blugolds to a 2-0 record at the Warrior Classic this weekend hosted by Wisconsin Lutheran College. In the first game against the host Wisconsin Lutheran Bardon led the Blugolds with 16 points, nine rebounds and six assists in a 84-73 victory over the Warriors. Against Concordia (WI) Bardon again led the Blugolds with 20 points, 11 rebounds and five assists against just one turnover and two blocked shots in a 74-65 victory over the Falcons. Bardon shot 7-of-14 from the floor including 3-of-7 from three-point range and 3-of-4 from the free throw line in the victory. Bardon shot 9-of-11 from the free throw line on the weekend and averaged 4 offensive rebounds a game for the week. The Blugolds have now won three consecutive games.

"B.J. Vetterkind, Inside, Fr., Mondovi, WI"
Vetterkind made a big impression with the Blugolds in the season's opening weekend in the Iowa-Wisconsin College. In a 66-54 defeat to Coe (IA) Vetterkind scored 11 points off the bench going 5-7 from the floor and 1-3 from three-point range to go along with five rebounds. In a 70-64 victory over Buena Vista (IA) Vetterkind scored 14 points on 5-9 shooting from the floor including 2-5 from behind the arc. Vetterkind also had four rebounds, two assists and two blocked shots in the victory over the Beavers who received votes in the D3Hoops.com pre-season poll. For the weekend Vetterkind averaged 12.5 points, 4.5 rebounds 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocked shots while shooting .625 from the field and .375 from three-point range.
